Tequila
I've been DJing and putting on parties since 1999, and producing since 2002.
It's been a varied DJ career, with gigs at everything from squats and universities to the Global Underground launch party
for Dave Seaman and Seb Fontaine at Nation in Washington DC.
Musically I don't like to define myself.
I play anything that lifts the hairs on the back of the neck, pushes the feet to move, fills the mind with beauty...
Music is powerful, and the emotionals evoked when it grips you are far too complex to be boxed into terms like 'trance' and 'house'.
The only word that comes close to what I play is 'progressive' - music that changes, taking you through complex harmonies,
electronic landscapes, dark energy, intricate rhythms, soul-shaking beats, pure euphoria and so much more.
The music is all about the journey, and I like to make it interesting.
With the right journey a crowd can be taken to new, exciting places - and love it.
But I do it for the rush - nothing comes close to the feeling of energy flowing through my veins like liquid,
pumped by the heartbeat of countless stomping feet.
I like to be at a party from the beginning and mix it up on the dancefloor.
It gives me a chance to get to know people, lets my sets hit deeper...
And it's a hell of a lot more fun that trying to out-cool the other DJs.
As well as up-front main room tunes, I have a wide array of down-tempo beats and breaks
to create an atmosphere and stimulate the mind for chill-out rooms,
and the Planet Angel front room gives me a chance to show off my sneaky, cheeky, chunky, funky side.
When I'm not rockin' the floor, you might find me writing breaks reviews for Intercourse Magazine,
putting on parties with the Nuclear Bunnies, or getting down to some production. I'm always happiest when I'm surrounded by music...
Get in touch, I'm always up for a chat.
